We are a group of people of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles. We meet weekly in Barcelona for Socratic discussions. We exchange opinions on topics that concern us or that we simply find interesting. We do not try to be right or to convince others, but to listen and understand each other’s opinions.
It is common for us to go out for dinner after these sessions to share more playful aspects of our lives, while continuing to express our opinions on the topic proposed for discussion in the session of the day, or any other topic that seems appropriate to us. Or simply to spend a pleasant time with people who are interested in communicating with others.
In this context, the idea was born to organize other activities that would bring together people with a Socratic spirit in different environments, such as nature or other cultural activities.
The idea, apart from meeting interesting people with whom you have something to share, is to take this Socratic spirit out of the discussion room and apply it to everyday aspects, making it a philosophy of life. The place or activity is secondary. To paraphrase the well-known phrase “It’s the economy, stupid”, the equivalent in this case would be “It’s the people, stupid”.
